Hybridizing trap and boom bap, rapper Malo BRIGADE effortlessly delivers high octane energy, introspection, and natural conviction on a speedy syllable soundscape. Native to Chicago, Malo welded critical writing skills from an early age heavily influenced by locally known performance spaces. Taking notes young from a wide range of Golden Era acts ranging from Biggie and Nas to Cash Money, as well as contemporary namestakes form the 2010s like Kendrick, Travis, ASAP, & Ye, Malo combines a plethora of eras to create a hyper and energetic yet substantive musical product.

Hitting the ground running in 2020, Malo BRIGADE released his first 3-track EP, Pressure, boasting production from local talent Martin $ky. First issuing his single, “Searching,” and debuting through Shade45, the project was acclaimed by local music press and created anticipation for what more was to come from him. Following the EP release, Malo released full accompaniment of self produced visuals for the entirety of the Pressure project, establishing a strong baseline for his capability as one stop powerhouse artist.

Following the EP release, Malo opened up 2021 with his first hard hitting self produced single, “Destinations.” Shortly after he delivered a versatilely contrasting writing offer, “Blood Moon” showcasing his expansive songwriting range. Leading up to his first full length effort, Malo released a third self produced critically received single “Like That,” accompanied by self directed visual.

Readily having gained credentials as a new Chicago artist, rollout began for Malo’s first full length mixtape, “y-i (Fin de Gee)” as an ode to the end of his previous moniker, Mahrv Gee, and introduction to his new creation of the #BRIGADE™️. Outputting two weighty singles, title track and intro, “y-i”, & bass heavy night activator, “808s”, Malo created much anticipated waves for his first successful tape release.

Through ‘22-‘23, Malo released a range of self engineered singles, maintaining his consistent strong output and delivery, preparing for a heavy storm of releases through 2024.

As founder of the #BRIGADE™️, Malo strives to push the music narrative forward and inspire everyone to be their total selves.
